Raw material — slurry, sludge, or high-moisture organic waste — is continuously fed into the inlet hopper via pump or conveyor. No pre-treatment or chemical addition required in most applications.
The variable-pitch screw rotates at low speed inside a wedge-wire screen basket. As the screw pitch decreases toward the discharge end, material is progressively compressed and pressure builds.
Free liquid and fine particles pass through the screen openings under pressure and are collected in the liquid discharge trough below. Screen aperture size is selected to match the target separation efficiency.
The dewatered solid cake exits from the discharge port at the end of the screw. Output moisture reaches 40–70%, and weight is typically reduced by 60–80%. The cake is ready for composting, bagging, transport, or further processing.
